DFDS Acquisition of Norfolkline finalised
July 12th 2010 saw the final formal completion of the aquistion of Norfolkline by DFDS, meaning the merger between the two companies is now complete. The new DFDS is structured into two divisions - DFDS Seaways and DFDS Logistics.
DFDS Seaways is the new name for all the shipping services combining Norfolkline, DFDS Tor Line, DFDS Lisco and all the terminals. This now means that DFDS and their fleet of 63 ships now operate on the North Sea, the Irish Sea, the English Channel and the Baltic Sea.
DFDS Logistics is the new name for all container and trailer services encompassing Norfolkline Logistics, Speedcargo, Hallens, DFDS Lys Line and DFDS Container Line.
Over the coming months DFDS will gradually rebrand ships and equipment to show the new names as the start of the integration process.
