Vessel changes on Killingholme - Hoek
As previously reported, Stena Line is currently in the process of building a series of new ships to be deployed on the North Sea. 2 of these new ships - the Stena Transporter and the Stena Transit will enter service on the Killingholme - Hoek van Holland route in February 2011 and October 2011 respectively.
However, Stena Line have announced that an opportunity to sell the current ships on this route - the Stena Trader and Stena Traveller - has been presented to them at very short notice, and they need to be delivered to their new owners by the end of September and end of November 2010. This means that Stena have been required to charter two ships to operate on this route in the interim period.
The Coraggio will take up service on 30th September until mid-October 2011 and the Finnarrow will be in operation from 30th November until mid-February. Whilst the Coraggio and the Finnarrow are both smaller than the current ships on the Killingholme - Hoek route this is not expected to have any impact on space and nor will it require a change in sailing schedule.
Furthermore, as reported in July, the first of the reployments on the Harwich - Rotterdam comes into effect from September 6th with the arrival of the Stena Carrier which will be deployed on the night sailing from Rotterdam and the morning sailing from Harwich.
