Swansea - Cork route tries again !

3 million pounds of local investors and business men has resurrected the Swansea to Cork ferry route under the brand name Fastnet Line.

Commencing 01st March the funds plus a mortgage has enabled the group to raise sufficient funds to purchase the ex Color Line ship Julia for 6.9 million pounds.

The vessel is extremely well equipped to deal with passengers and a limited number of freight vehicles. The new service is a welcome addition to Stena Line’s Fishguard to Rosslare and Irish Ferries Pembroke to Rosslare services.

Established operators Stena Line and Irish Ferries have struggled for the last 3 years without the competition of a Swansea to Cork service. Investors will hope this new service will kick start the economy.
