Scandlines
Scandlines is one of the leading freight ferry operators in the Baltic. Specialsing is shipping freight vehicles from 6m vans, 8-12m rigid vehicles, 13.5 unaccompanied trailers, and 15-18m artic and roadtrain vehicles.
Scandlines GmbH was established in 1998, following the merger of 2 of the largest ferry companies in Denmark and Germany, Scandlines A/S and DFO. Scanslines Gmbh, based in Rostock, is the parent company to Scandlines Deutschland GmbH and Scandlines Danmark A/S. In 2006 Scandlines GmbH turned over € 546 million euros (£ 467 million sterling approx).
Scandlines now links Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Finland and the Baltic Countries. Scandlines boasts a fleet of 19 ferries Ro-Pax ferries (ferries capable of carrying freight and passengers), operating on nine routes between 14 ports. The ferry operator carries over 18.5 million passengers, four million cars, one million freight units and 85,000 railway units.
Scandlines operates to the following ports:- Puttgarden (Germany), Rostock (Germany), Sassnitz (Germany), Rodby (Denmark), Gedser (Denmark), Helsingor (Denmark), Helsingborg (Sweden), Trelleborg (Sweden), Nynashamn (Sweden), Ventspils (Latvia), Klaipeda (Lithuania), Hango/Hanko (Finland).
In 2012 Scandlines will see the fruition of nearly £200 million worh of investment in the development of the Port of Rostock, the Port of Gedser and two brand new ferries to serve the Rostock to Gedser route. With unique modern designs, high levels of fuel efficiency and interior based on the Copenhagen to Berlin cycle route the two new ferries are aiming to set a new standard of Baltic Sea ferry travel.
Even now though, freight drivers and passengers can relax and enjoy a very high standard of on-board service including, restaurants, bars, boutique, sun lounge, games area and bureau de change.

Routes
Scandlines operates the following routes. The vast majority of routes in the Freight Link system can be booked and paid for online without opening an account. For contractual reasons, a small number do require that you open an account with us first.
