Stena Line

Stena Line is one of the world’s largest ferry operators, providing over 18 services across the Irish Sea, North Sea and Scandinavia. Stena Line provides services for a range of market sectors such as passengers, accompanied freight vehicles and unaccompanied freight vehicles. The company employs over 5,700 people in total.

On the 16^th May 2010, Stena Line launched the introduction of a new Superferry, the Stena Hollandica. A second brand new ferry, the Stena Britannica will be introduced to its fleet in Autumn 2010. This investment cost over £375 million and was implemented in order to meet the increasing demand on the Harwich to Hook of Holland route. These Superferries offer 30% more capacity as well as exciting new onboard facilities and services for passengers. New ships will also arrive on the Killingholme – Hoek of Holland route in 2011.

From September 2010 Stena Line will also be extending its route network into Denmark, selling the Immingham – Esbjerg and Harwich – Esbjerg routes alongside DFDS Seaways.

In November 2010 Stenaline announced the purchase of DFDS routes Heysham - Belfast and Birkenhead - Belfast. Included within the sale is the purchase of 2 ships operating on the Heysham - Belfast route, and long term charter of the 2 ships operating on the Birkenhead - Belfast route. An OFT decision on the purchase is expected in February 2010.

Routes

Stena Line operates the following routes. The vast majority of routes in the Freight Link system can be booked and paid for online without opening an account. For contractual reasons, a small number do require that you open an account with us first. There are other benefits to opening an account with Freight Link; we make regular offers available to our existing account holders and we can offer up to 30 days credit, so you can buy now and pay later.
