Color Line ASA, Color Line’s parent company was established in 1990 when Jahre Line and Norway Line merged. Further expansion was to follow with Color Line took over Fred Olsen ferry operation. Color Line now employs over 3500 employees and turns over in excess of 4.3 billion NOK (£403 million sterling / € 482 million euro’s approx) In 2007 Color Line carried over 4.3 million passengers, 800,000 cars and over 180,000 freight vehicles.

Today Color Line is Norway’s largest ferry and freight ferry operators. Color Line has a fleet of over six vessels, servicing Norway, Sweden, Demark and Germany. Since 2006 Colour Line has invested over € 940 million euros (£ 786 million sterling appox) and therefore has one of Europe’s most modern Ro-Pax fleets (ferries capable of carrying freight and passengers).
