United Kingdom to Belgium freight ferry services
Belgium is situated in Western Europe. It is a founding member of the European Union and hosts the EU's headquarters, as well as those of several other major international organizations such as NATO. For passengers travelling from England, Trans Europa provides crossings from Ramsgate to Ostend between 5 and 7 times a day with a 4 hour travelling duration. Alternatively, P&O Ferries offer services from Hull to Zeebrugge 7 times a week, with a 14 hour and 15 minute crossing.
There are also freight ferry crossings available from Scotland, from the port of Rosyth travelling to Zeebrugge. This service is provided by DFDS Seaways and occurs 3 times a week with a 20 hour travelling duration.
For freight ferry sailings Cobelfret operate services from Purfleet and Killingholme to Zeebrugge. These services primarily serve the drop trailer market, although do offer space for 12 drivers on each sailing. Although the driver facilities are limited on board they do provide good quality and value for money.
The port of Zeebrugge is a large port in the province of Bruges which handles over 44 million tonnes of cargo annually including containers and bulk cargo. It is also the European hub of the automotive industry. Zeebrugge is also one of the most centrally located North Sea ports with good road and rail connections to a number of major European cities.
