France to Guernsey and Jersey ferry crossings
Guernsey is located in the English Channel just off the coast of Normandy. Along with Jersey, the islands are also known as the Channel Islands. Although the island is not classed as part of the UK, the UK is responsible for the defence of the island; similar to the Isle of Man.
The island of Jersey is a British Crown Dependency near to the coast of Normandy, in France. As well as the island itself, Jersey includes two groups of small islands, the Minquiers, Écréhous, and the Pierres de Lecq. These islands are no longer permanently inhabited. Guernsey and Jersey are also not part of the European Union.
A selection of ferry routes is available from France to Guernsey and Jersey. Condor Ferries provide services for freight and passengers from St Malo to Guernsey and Jersey. The fast ferry passenger sailings from St Malo can operate up to 10 times a week in summer months, but only carry small vehicles. Freight sailings from St Malo to the Channel Islands operate once a week.
Guernsey Ferry Port offers passengers a selection of facilities including a shop and cafeteria. Car parking is available on the North Beach and is free. The maximum stay in these car park facilities is between three and ten hours.
The Port of Jersey is situated on the southern coast of the island in the capital city of St Helier. There is a range of services and facilities at the port itself, including cafes, restaurants, shops and duty free outlets.
