England to Guernsey and Jersey freight ferry services
The Bailiwick of Jersey is a British Crown Dependency off the coast of Normandy, France. As well as the island of Jersey itself, the Bailiwick includes two groups of small islands which are no longer permanently inhabited, the Minquiers, Écréhous, and the Pierres de Lecq. Together with the Bailiwick of Guernsey, they form the grouping known as the Channel Islands. Similarly to the Isle of Man, Jersey is a separate possession of the Crown and is not part of the United Kingdom.
Guernsey is a British Crown Dependency in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. As well as the island of Guernsey itself, it also includes Alderney, Herm, Jethou, Brecqhou, Burhou, Lihou, Sark and other islets. Although the defence of all these islands is the responsibility of the United Kingdom, the Bailiwick of Guernsey is not part of the U.K. but rather a separate possession of the Crown, similar to the Isle of Man. Guernsey is also not part of the European Union.
Condor Ferries provide freight and passenger services from Portsmouth (usually one conventional and one freight only service a day) to Guernsey and onwards to Jersey as well as several passenger fast ferry services from Poole (crossing time from 3 hours), and Weymouth (crossing time from 2 hours). These services from Poole and Weymouth are only available to small vehicles and are more frequent in the summer months.
Guernsey Ferry Port or St Peter Port is situated in the Channel Islands. Guernsey Ferry Port provides a range of services and facilities such as a shop, a cafeteria, baby changing facilities and disabled toilets. Car parking is available on the North Beach, to the north of the terminal, and is free of charge. The maximum stay is between three and ten hours.
