What’s Afloat in the Med this Summer?
With the summer ferry season already underway, there’s plenty of events happening in the Mediterranean countries.
Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity saw creatives and marketers from around the world gather for the coveted awards in Cannes, while the 2018 Mediterranean Games, a multisport competition recognised by the International Olympic Committee started last week. The freight industry and Freightlink have been busy behind the scenes supporting these and other activities for the public to enjoy.
Over the last few years we have been working with many businesses who are involved in keeping the festivities flowing smoothly at the big events in the Mediterranean. One of our customers has already had a busy start to the year facilitating events not just across the Med, but all around the world, and their schedules are showing no sign of easing up.
The Rolling Stones
Having supported a number of bands on their European tours, including the Script and The Rolling Stones, our customer is one of the music industry's most popular choices for moving on-stage equipment. The equipment they move by booking ferries with us includes light, sound and staging paraphernalia along with their mixers and instruments.
Fib 2018, Bencassim
Up and coming events include sending indie rock band Two Door Cinema Club to the Fib 2018 Benicassim Festival in Spain and alt-J to a number of Mediterranean locations including Turkey, Greece and France.
At Freightlink we have had the pleasure of assisting them in their ferry crossings. If you are attending events across the Mediterranean over summer, remember that it’s not just the stars that have made a long journey to get there, the equipment has to get there too.
