Over the next six months, our ferries on the Puttgarden–Rødby route will depart every 40 minutes instead of every 30 minutes.
This is because two of our ferries are heading into longer shipyard stays – but for the best of reasons: they are being upgraded to modern plug-in hybrid ferries, which will reduce CO₂e emissions by up to 80 percent.
It’s a big step towards our goal of running the route completely free of direct emissions by 2030.
To help keep things running smoothly during this period, our dedicated freight ferry Kronprins Frederik will be supporting operations from Monday to Saturday.
And there’s even more good news:
Later this year, we will welcome our very first zero direct emissions ferry on the Puttgarden–Rødby route. Not only will this new ship operate completely emissionfree during the 45-minute crossing, it will also boost capacity significantly as she is designed to carry lorries on both decks.
That means more space, greater flexibility, and even better service for our freight customers – including improved options for transporting dangerous goods safely and efficiently.
So, while departures on Puttgarden–Rødby will be a little less frequent for a while, the result will be an even greener, more spacious, and future-ready ferry service.
We thank you for your understanding and look forward to welcoming you on board!
