Portavadie

Portavadie freight ferry services to Tarbert, Loch Fyne.

Portavadie ferry port is in Argyll and Bute, part of a “ghost village” that was built for North Sea oil workers in the 1970s, however no-one has ever lived there. Freight ferries operate from Portavadie across Loch Fyne to Tarbert, a crossing of around 20 minutes. In 2010 a new Marina complex opened with accommodation and a bar/restaurant.

The port at Portavadie is unattended but there is a small waiting room.
