It’s now just under one week to go until the Heysham M6 Link Road, the 'Bay Gateway', officially opens to traffic on 31 October 2016.

It was back in early 2014 when work on the £124 million project began. The opening of the new 4.8km road will massively improve access to Heysham Port from junction 34 of the M6.

The new link road will significantly reduce congestion in the areas of Lancaster, Morecambe and Carnforth. Journey times to and from Heysham Port and the M6 will be completely transformed and provide a huge boost for all users of Heysham Port.

It’s been a long wait but the difference will be incredible. Roll on 31 October!
