As we continue to work closely with the relevant government bodies and the WHO, we wanted to advise you about some of the guidelines for travel and hygiene measures we have put in place to ensure your drivers’ and our crew’s safety during our Larne – Cairnryan crossings. From check-in to disembarkation we’ve made every effort to make sure that travelling with us is safe.
Drivers travelling on our ships must arrive at check-in with a mask on their face and keep it on at all times until they leave the port on the other side of their journey.
Similarly if drivers are collecting or dropping off freight units at port, they must also arrive at check-in with a mask on their face and keep it on at all times until they leave the port.
Our staff will also be wearing masks and gloves where needed, we’ve installed numerous hand sanitising stations and Perspex screens, social distancing signage and one-way systems are in place and high contact surfaces will be cleaned regularly during your crossing. These are just a few examples of the measures that have been put in place.
Our ferries have plenty of room on board and we’ve reduced our passenger capacity on every crossing to allow for social distancing of minimum 1 metre. Please bare with us and follow the instructions of our crew as we reinstate more on board facilities
We would ask you to kindly pass on this communication to all your drivers, to ensure everyone’s safety when travelling with us.
DRIVERS REMAINING IN CABS AT SEA
We have recently noticed a number of drivers sleeping in their cabs whilst at sea. This is not only against the law but it also puts theirs’ and others’ lives at risk. More details about the consequences are available here and we urge you to pass it on to your drivers.
