We wish to issue a polite reminder around the IMDG code of conduct for entry to each of our North Sea Terminals, inclusive of Placards and Paperwork.
All drivers must ensure the correct IMDG placards are displayed on their vehicle prior to arrival at our arrival booths in readiness for a seamless process, and entry as fast and safe as possible. It is a mandatory requirement in order to access any of our Terminals.
The International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code governs the safe transport of hazardous goods by sea. It requires clear placarding and correct documentation to ensure safety during shipping, and in which the Terminals we operate.
Placards must:
- Match the hazard class of the cargo (as defined in the IMDG code)
- Be clearly visible on both sides and the rear for driver accompanied, and all four sides for unaccompanied units
- Include marine pollutant marks if required
Drivers must also have the fully completed dangerous goods paperwork ready to provide at check-in.
Failure to comply will result in refusal of entry, and may inherit delays to shipments.
Thank you for your cooperation.
