Congestion remains a constant issue for our 12 Quays terminal in Birkenhead and therefore the following rules and guidelines are in effect to maintain a safe operation:

• 12 hour rule is applicable to all unaccompanied bookings. Trailers / mobiles must not arrive for check-in more than 12 hours prior to departure time. 
• Only confirmed bookings will be permitted to check-in.
• A waiting area for accompanied traffic is available which is signposted at 12 quays. Unaccompanied trailer parking is not permitted in the waiting area.
• Drivers must not proceed to check-in at 12 Quays until:
  • 12 hours prior to departure time.
  • GMR / PBN paperwork is updated in the booking prior to vehicle arrival at check-in.
  • All hazardous details are entered in the booking prior to vehicle arrival at check-in; vehicles without details entered will be refused entry.
• Check-in of Trade Car / Mobile vehicles may be restricted at times.
• Unaccompanied trailers / Mobile vehicles must be collected within 24 hours of arrival time.
• Unauthorised parking of any trailers within the 12 quays terminal is not permitted and will result in vehicles being impounded.
