What is BAF and EVA?

FREIGHT FERRIES

Freight ferries burn tonnes of fuel on each crossing. As a result some of the ferry operators have a fuel surcharge (Bunker Adjustment Factor or BAF) which is an additional charge per booking to contribute to the exceptional cost of the fuel. Low Sulphur Surcharges (LSS) also need to be considered.

EUROTUNNEL FREIGHT

Due to the significant increase in electricity costs, as of 01.04.2022 all crossings will be subject to an Electricity Value Adjustment (EVA).

For the purpose of clarity; the EVA surcharge is only applicable to bookings whereby the vehicle travels Folkestone - Calais or Calais - Folkestone from the 1st April 2022 until further notice – meaning any bookings already on your account for travel after this date will be subject to the EVA surcharge.
