Stena Line Update - Changes in accommodation of freight drivers in cabins UPDATED

The regulatory authorities in countries where we operate have started to remove most, if not all, of the restrictions put in place during the pandemic. This means our vessels can return to full capacities and operations similar to pre-pandemic operations.

During the pandemic, freight drivers were given single-occupancy cabins on most routes. This was due to social distancing restrictions and was also possible due to the large reduction in the numbers of people sailing on our vessels.

With safety restrictions, such as social distancing, now removed we have reverted to a company-wide policy of permitting shared-occupancy for freight drivers across our route network. This means all regions can reimplement shared cabins for freight drivers, where capacity constraints require it.

This will allow us to offer our maximum capacity to the market while fully supporting our Freight customers in meeting the transport needs of the industry.

However, where possible, freight drivers will be given single cabin occupancy if space and capacity permits. Also, like before the pandemic we offer the possibility to upgrade to single-occupancy cabin for an extra fee, but also here subject to capacity and availability. This by route and departure.

At Stena Line we always follow national legislation and recommendations, and we will inform our customers of any changes. At all times, we kindly ask you to follow your national health guidelines and travel restrictions. We are committed to offering all our customers a safe and sustainable journey and will continue to keep rigorous hygienic safety measures onboard.

We welcome all freight drivers onboard!

The regulatory authorities in countries where we operate have started to remove most of the restrictions put in place during the pandemic. As a result we can remove many of the pandemic’s safety measures, such as social distancing and, on some routes, face coverings are no longer mandatory. The changes also apply to the accommodation of freight drivers in cabins.
