Full import controls for goods being imported from the EU (excluding Ireland) to the UK are required from 1st January 2022.

If you do NOT have your Goods Movement Record (GMR) you won’t be able to -

• board the ferry or Eurotunnel shuttle
• cross the EU/UK border
• clear your goods through customs

NO IMPORT DECLARATION = NO GMR = NO CROSSING

OTHER GB BORDER CONTROL CHANGES

• Requirements for pre-notification of Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) goods from 1 January 2022
• Requirements for Export Health Certificates from end of 2023
• Phytosanitary Certificates and physical checks on SPS goods at Border Control Posts from end of 2023
• Safety and Security declarations on imports will be required from end of 2023
