This week, the government has made significant changes to the way motorists are fined for speeding.
For drivers who exceed the speed limit by a few miles per hour, nothing significant will change. However, the worst offenders will see substantial increases in fines.
Drivers caught massively exceeding the limit will see a penalty increase starting at 150%, based on the driver's weekly income.
The maximum fine for breaking the speed limit remains the same at £1000, or £2500 if driving on a motorway.
Truck drivers, stay within the speed limit and drive safely.
