Can I get a price for a vehicle that is out of gauge?

Most European ferry companies operating freight ferries have a ‘standard’ maximum size of vehicle because they have to conform to rules on health & safety. Anything that exceeds this 'standard' size is considered ‘out of gauge’ or an ‘Abnormal load’.

Maximum standard vehicle size

  • 18.65 m long
  • 2.9 m wide
  • 44 tonnes (traction unit + trailer + goods)
